Partnership for Public Health Nutrition encourages cooperation among the six Wisconsin dietetics programs, the WI Division of Public Health, and other interested organizations. Information for Students

This site can show you listings of public health and community nutrition placements sorted by:

  • location
  • time commitment
  • area of interest within the field of nutrition

Once you have located a placement that matches your interests, you may contact the agency and provide them with information about your qualifications.

These placements have been arranged through members of the Partnership for Public Health Nutrition and faculty at the six Wisconsin colleges that provide dietetics education. Since each academic program is different, please check with your advisor before committing to a placement to be sure it meets your program's requirements.

What is expected of students?

  • Know the requirements of your academic program. Consult your advisor and/or your program's website.
  • Know the requirements of the American Dietetic Association if you are planning a dietetic internship.
  • Be professional and follow through once you make a commitment. Whether your receive academic credit, volunteer experience, or payment for your work you should treat this placement seriously.
  • Commit to working for the pre-arranged number of hours according to a schedule arranged with the placement agency. The agency is counting on you to complete the work you agree to do.
  • Perform all duties in a professional manner and respect and abide by the agency's policies, procedures and expectations.
  • Seek out guidance and feedback from mentors.
  • Communicate with faculty in a timely manner to address any concerns.
  • Arrange for your own transportation to and from the site.
  • Participate in evaluation of the placement experience and this website.
