About the Network

The Wisconsin Nutrition Education Network facilitates collaborative planning of nutrition education programs at the state and local levels. We promote healthful and enjoyable eating so that Wisconsin's low-income individuals and families receive consistent, positive, relevant, accurate, and effective nutrition messages.

The development of the Nutrition Network was funded in October 1996 by a Cooperative Agreement with the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Instead of yearly campaigns, the Network's 2007-2010 plan focused on incorporating learner centered approaches to nutrition education.

Materials that use learner centered approaches were identified and made available.

Training was provided for educators on general learner centered techniques as well as specific curricula.

Local partnerships remained the same or adapted as needed.
