After studying two large groups of men and
women, researchers concluded that the lower risk of lung cancer
can be associated with an increase of fruit and vegetables high
in carotenoids. Because carotenoids are just a few of the phytochemicals
naturally found in fruits and vegetables, the researchers conclude
that it is unwise to suggest carotenoid supplements as an alternative
to a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
