The Karen Spector Reading and Conference Room is located in the Nutritional Sciences Building, 1415 Linden Dr., on the UW Campus. It was established through the University of Wisconsin Foundation in memory of Karen Rae Spector.

Karen Spector Memorial Scholarship

In May 2000, Jerry and Dianne Spector provided funds for the development and construction of The Karen Spector Reading Room in the Nutritional Sciences Building at UW-Madison. This beautiful room, established as a memorial to Karen, is used for study, lectures and meetings in the Nutritional Sciences Department. It is comfortably decorated, warm and friendly in size, with three large windows for light. The room is furnished with a large conference table, task chairs, and easy chairs for lounging and reading. There is a pull-down screen for presentations and bookshelves for research materials. There are also three computers and a printer for student use.

This room is dedicated to personal and professional growth, development, and discovery with a special attention to Nutritional Sciences. Karen Spector had a passion for learning about nutrition and health. She understood how nutrition related to and affected the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of living. Karen's dream was to contribute to healthy life for all. May this room inspire you to follow and share your dreams and desires.
