Bernice Mateicka Undergraduate Scholarship
Purpose
To aid students in pursing an undergraduate degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition, Institutional Food Service Management, Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, and Hotel and Restaurant Management.

$500.00
Qualifications
- Applicants must be classified as first or second semester junior status at the time of application for the scholarship.
- Documented financial need on application form.
- Legal resident of Wisconsin attending school in Wisconsin or a reciprocal tuition institution. Student must qualify for in-state tuition within the University of Wisconsin system.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation including a current faculty member. References must be received from three persons qualified to give pertinent information as to your character, scholastic ability and professional leadership qualities.
- Official transcript from all universities attended where five (5) or more credit hours have been earned.
- Completed applications must be postmarked by mid-April. It is the applicant's responsibility to include application form and letters of recommendation in one packet for consideration by the Scholarship Committee.
Selection Procedure
- Application and three (3) letters of recommendation are reviewed by each member of the Scholarship Committee.
- Applications are scored and the Scholarship recipients selected.
- Letters are written to the scholarship recipients and other applicants by the end of May, and payment is mailed by August.
- A certificate is presented to the scholarship recipient at a Fall ASHFSA Meeting, if the recipient can attend.
- The scholarship award may be received only once.
