NOTE:  This syllabus will be updated as the semester proceeds.  Please refer to the class website and materials handed out in class for changes and updates.

Independent Study Option:

NS 540 students wishing to gain community experience will be allowed to register for one credit of independent study (699) in addition to the 1 credit of NS540.  Independent study students will work in small teams on one of the two projects identified by the instructor.  Students will set objectives, participate in the school- or community-based project, evaluate their experience, and write a 4-5 page paper summarizing their project and how their activities and observations relate to topics covered in this course.
